Hanging Pink Mandala

I started out with meandering vines and they just needed some hanging pink flowers and buds.

This is the first symetrical mandala that I have tried. Okay, not perfectly symetrical. While it was fun I didn’t feel as free as I usually do when doing these in a random design.

I love the book, ”Gone With The Wind” and have read it at least three times. More importantly, I saw the movie several times. Most of the time it was with my Dad. It was our special time together. And I cry everytime I read/see it.
He shared his love of GWTW in this special way. I cannot think of the book or movie without thinking of him.
I still have his book and treasure the memory of our time together.
Hidden in the this mandala are a few symbols of the movie; Gone With the Wind, Tara, the fire in Atlanta and those famour words, “Frankly my dear…” Can you find them?
I am SO hooked on these mandala’s!!
Gelpens in the Hand.book sketchbook.

I used this mandala for Illustration Friday’s theme word of “crash”.
I did it yesterday to see what my mind would reveal because I have been upset about something and gee, it looks like my mind had crashed and fractured. :)
Wish I knew more about what these mandala’s can reveal.

The spots just reminded me of sunspots. I must have been thinking of warm weather.

I just had to do a Superbowl mandala. I used purple and white for the Colts and orange and black for the Bears.
Hmm, I think there is more orange and black here. So you know who I am rooting for!

I started this mandala with a foot stepping out of the circle and so begins my journey of opening up my creativity.
When I was done with this one I was totally amazed at the results. I say amazed at the results because I never know what the circle will present.
