‘Slowly’ Mandala

Filed under: Botanical, One Single Impression, Sharpies, ink, mandala — teric @ 8:52 pm

I have not been here for two months-no mandalas, no One Single Impression haiku, nothing.
A few people have been wondering what happened.  I can only say that I lost my muse for awhile.

At last she is back
My muse, my inspiration
Let’s start creating

I am dedicating these mandalas to my dear friend Marianne who recently lost her father.   She creates beautiful mandalas.

The theme word at One Single Impression this week is “slowly” suggested by Genre Cookshop.

Take a breath slowly
Smell the fragrance in the air
Spring flowers have come

The top mandala is full of flowers, while the second mandala is a color inversion of the same image.  I did this in Paint on Vista.

Visit One Single Impression for links to beautiful haiku from some very talented people!

And thanks for stopping by.

Autumn Mandala

Filed under: Botanical, One Single Impression, Sharpies, mandala — teric @ 9:12 am

The prompt at One Single Impression this week is ‘Autumn’ suggested my moi:)  I LOVE doing autumn leaves and have written so many haiku and painted leaves all week on my art blog.

This mandala is doing double duty today as ‘autumn’ is also the prompt at Mandala Oasis.

The cycle of change
During the life of a leaf
The joys of autumn

Started as a green
Progressed to red and yellow
Ends brown and broken

I have had a week
Of colorful autumn leaves
At Painted Daisies

I love painting autumn leaves and went crazy painting them and writing a haiku for each.
I am leaving for Arizona tomorrow so it will be a few days before I can visit your Blogs.

Three days to go south
And west to Arizona
With warm sunny skies

Sunday’s Mandala

Filed under: Botanical, Sharpies, mandala — teric @ 11:11 am

I did not do the prompt at One Single Impression (defenses down) because I just couldn’t get into it.

So I did this mandala for Sunday :)

Myth Mandala

Filed under: Botanical, One Single Impression, colored pencils, mandala — teric @ 6:16 am

The prompt at One Single Impression this week is ‘myth’ suggested by Suijin.

I thought I would have trouble writing a haiku for this but it just seemed to write itself:

Love is not a myth
The dreamy look, the soft touch
Its just magical!

(Still the romantic :)

Then I saw a flower that inspired the mandala.   I thought it worked so well with what I had written.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stranded Mandala

Filed under: Botanical, One Single Impression, mandala — teric @ 2:54 pm

The theme word at One Single Impression this week is “Stranded”.

I was really inspired with this prompt.

Go and sit outside

Get stranded in the beauty

Make a mandala

And

Dreams and memories.

Get stranded in the moment.

Just drift and enjoy.

And

Like the memories

Leaves and blooms will blow away

Leaving only warmth.

I have never made a mandala using only natural materials before and it was great fun.   I was just sitting outside and thinking about ’stranded’ which led to this moment of creativity.  Thanks ‘One Single Impression’ for the inspiration.

Teri’s Plan for WordPress

Filed under: Botanical — teric @ 8:07 pm

I am trying to get acquainted with Workpress and plan to post my botanical art on this site as well as on my other Blog, Painted Daisies.

A 'Real' Painted Daisy

This is the real painted daisy that I tried to use in the header.  Have to work on that.
