‘Smile’ Mandala

The prompt at One Single Impression this week is ‘Smile’ as suggested by Geraldine.

It’s been awhile since I have done a mandala or participated in One Single Impression. Life got in the way but thanks to Geraldine who has pressured me…lol….to play again.

Give a smile to someone
Such an easy gift”

Thanks for the nudge Geraldine, I needed it and it was refreshing to get back to my mandalas.

Rain Mandala

One day it was raining (a rare occurrence in Tucson) and I just felt like making a mandala and haiku.

For no good reason
I just needed to create
A word mandala

What I love about creating mandalas is the message they send. This one says rain brings flowers and life.

What a fun prompt.
I ripped pieces of paper with images of things in my life, and pasted them to a watercolored circle to create this mandala

My weeds have flowers
They can be stubby or tall
Enjoy their beauty

Interesting word to make poetry out of as well as a mandala. I enjoyed the challenge.

“Dream Mandala”

The prompt at One Single Impression this week is “Dreams”.

I have been dreaming
That my vision was good
Then the dream came true
Two doctors made it better
Now I am back creating

This prompt was perfect for me. I had to take a blogging break to have surgery on my eye. I had scar tissue removed from my retina and a cataract removed with a lens implanted.

I am still recovering my vision a little bit everyday but when I saw the prompt I had to write this tanka.
