Folly Mandala

August 3, 2008

The prompt at One Single Impression this week is ‘Folly’ suggested by Forest River Journal.

I had fun with alliteration on this one:

F is for folly,
Fun, friends, five fragrant flowers.
And feeling foolish.

Right after that I had to go shopping at the art store and found some fun acrylic paints and black paper sketchbook and made this mandala.  Then this haiku popped into my head:

I bought new colors
To use on new black paper
Not folly for sure

Thanks to OSI I am always inspired!

Love the mandala – it looks like an octopus getting sucked into a black hole! I don’t know why, but I find it terribly amusing!

Both delightful. I agree that the paint wasn’t folly. Wonderful mandala.

In your mandala I read fast and confusing and whirling; all can lead to folly if out of control. But happy whirling like a merry-go-round.

Love it! the mandala is exuberantly alive and both poems are vivid!

The spinning mandala is just like folly, round and round with lots of distractions.

That folly can take us around and around. Love the mandala and it nor the paints are a folly.

Wonderful blending of words and image …
I’ve played twice this week: once on each blog . My OSI Week 23: Folly posts can be found here and here.
    Hugs and blessings,
