“Accidental Mandala”

March 5, 2011

The prompt at One Single Impression this week is ‘Accidental’ suggested by Rinkly Rimes.

Swirling and checkered
They are not accidental
But the red dots are

Another haiku came to mind with this mandala

Red circles, black squares
They are flowing and dipping
Highways of beauty

    OOOOOOOPPPPPPPPPPPs,

    Confusion of mind
    An irrelevant comment
    Accidental, oh..

Sorry Terri C… Loved your Mandala and the haikus.. memory lapses need to ignored..or enjoyed..I prefer the later..

Loved them both, and the 2nd haiku captured the mandala perfectly.

Beautiful mandala and the ideas in your Haiku’s too!!

    More like Grand Prix!!

Love them both. ‘Highways of beauty’ 🙂

As your haiku indicates, it does bring to mind (instantly) the thought of racing…down a highway. Maybe rather wildly! hehehehe. Love the red, white and black together and varied shapes all swirled together!

I like the idea that the unintended adds such beauty and dimension.

I really like what you’re doing here. I love the contrasts of the white red and black on this one. The haiku to go along with is incredibly descriptive.

  12. March 8, 2011 5:30 am

I enjoyed them, especially the second one.

They look like chessboards turned into floral blooms, which is just so cool. And I find myself wondering why it’s the red that’s accidental… maybe because they’re less patterned and outside the grid?

I love the randomness of art mistakes and how they are very rarely mistakes! Highways of beauty indeed!

I am thinking of how the main road–the only road–to some very important places in life are quite accidental. This is a beautiful mandala.

Are your images computer-generated. So nicely done, both the graphics and haikus.

  23. March 10, 2011 5:33 pm

Thanks. I do these mandalas by hand. Very zen-kind of relaxing.

To me this beautiful mandala is intriguing. My mind wants repitition or a pattern but by design you have made it arguablely accidental.

    Mandala makes sense
    only to its creator
    I’m not creative
    ..

    Jim I am happy
To have you write this haiku
    While being intrigued
